Our Mt. Jackson-Edinburg Rotary Club Rotarians have been busy keeping our Virginia roads a little cleaner. Over 300lbs of trash has been picked up over the last few weeks by our Club members and family. Truly a "Sweat Equity" project we can all get behind.

Wonderful article about the literacy program in Shenandoah County Public Schools initiated by our local Rotary Clubs: Mt. Jackson-Edinburg Rotary Club, Rotary Club of New Market Virginia, The Rotary Club of Woodstock VA and Strasburg Rotary. Our Club is especially proud of our 9 volunteer readers/tutors. Over a third of our club members participate on a regular basis helping move the literacy needle with the local elementary students. Service Above Self! Well done Rotarians!

This week’s Rotary speaker was truly inspiring. Ana Jermstad shared her powerful story of resilience following a traumatic spinal cord injury at age 23 that resulted in her using a wheelchair. Despite this life-changing accident, Ana’s outlook on life is nothing short of incredible.

This year, Ana will represent the United States at an adaptive sports exchange in Italy, and this fall she will pursue her master’s degree in social work.

We were honored to hear Ana’s story and proud to welcome her this week and her proud father George, is a valued member of our Rotary club. Thank you, Ana, for reminding us what determination, courage, and positivity look like!

The Mt. Jackson-Edinburg Rotary Club kicked off the new calendar year this morning getting a pulse check on our Club's Rotary goals.
Half way through the Rotary year and our Club has rolled up our sleeves by logging 398 Rotary event volunteer hours and an additional 359 community event volunteer hours. Want to be part of this amazing group that certainly knows how to get things done? Join us each Tuesday morning at 8:00am at the Shenandoah County Community Center.

Jackson-Edinburg Rotary Club wrapped up a very successful 2025 with the presentation of Paul Harris Fellow pins to eight of our members: Mickey Rooney, Barbara Strong, Olivia Hilton, Ingrid Thompson, Bill Ettinger, Kristen Simler, Cindy Brill and Leigh Sicina. Also acknowledged as a multiple Paul Harris Fellow +3 is Tracy Carter Miller. Presenting the pins is Rotary District 7570 DG Andy Vanhook. Congratulations to all!
