Only 10 Days away! What is the Cherry Blossom Buffet?

The arrival of spring in the Columbia River Gorge brings with it one of Mosier's most cherished traditions: the 53rd Annual Cherry Blossom Buffet. This community celebration will be held on Saturday, April 13th, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Mosier Grange Hall.

What began as the "Smorgasbord and Blossom Tour" sponsored by the Mosier Volunteer Fire Department has evolved into a cornerstone event for this small Oregon community. In 2014, the Mosier Grange took over hosting responsibilities, renaming it the Cherry Blossom Buffet while maintaining its rich heritage.
"This event celebrates more than just delicious food—it honors our agricultural roots and the natural beauty that defines our region," says a Grange representative. "The cherry blossoms represent renewal and community connection, something we've nurtured for over five decades."

The buffet menu features local favorites including grilled salmon, ham, a variety of main dishes, fresh salads, and homemade desserts. Each dish is prepared with care by Grange members and Mosier volunteers, with between 20 and 50 community members donating their time and talents to make the event possible.

Proceeds from the Cherry Blossom Buffet support the Mosier Grange's vital community services. The funds also provide scholarships for Mosier high school graduating seniors and maintain the Grange Hall as an accessible venue for community gatherings, including funerals, yoga classes, and quilting groups.
"The Grange Hall truly serves as Mosier's community living room," explains a longtime volunteer. "By supporting the Cherry Blossom Buffet, attendees are investing in a space where neighbors connect, celebrate, and support one another through all of life's moments."

Visitors are encouraged to make a day of their visit to Mosier. After enjoying the buffet, take a scenic drive through the surrounding hills where cherry orchards display their spectacular spring blossoms. The drive offers breathtaking views of both the blossoming trees and the magnificent Columbia River Gorge.
Tickets for the Cherry Blossom Buffet are available at the door: $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children under 6 years old. The Mosier Grange Hall is located at 1000 4th Avenue, Mosier, OR 97040.

This celebration of community, seasonal beauty, and local culinary traditions continues to bring together residents and visitors alike, honoring a tradition that has spanned more than half a century in this picturesque Gorge community.
