Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!!!

Katie, John, and Hank sure are having fun!
We wanted to give a quick update on Katie’s status. She’s doing good, working hard to get stronger everyday. She’s going for weekly testing, so her team can still monitor her closely. They’ve decided to expand the parameters on a new liver, as well as attempting to ween her off of the antibiotic IVs she’s on daily. Her team is optimistic that this should help get a better match sooner.
We truly appreciate everyone’s support, prayers, and thoughts. We hope everyone has a fun, safe holiday week! 🇺🇸 ❤️🤍💙

Another HUGE shoutout to Deep Roots Chiropractic and Wellness Center for hosting a Family & Friends event this coming Sunday, March 17th. Starting at 10:30am, stop by Deep Roots for a pre-party for the NWSI St. Patrick’s Day parade that starts at 12pm and goes right by the shop.

$15/per person donation (cash only) will include corned beef sandwiches, beer and/or seltzers.

Can’t wait to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day will everyone!

HUGE shout out to Deep Roots Chiropractic and Wellness Center for kick starting a fundraiser for Kate the Great Huber and her family! We are beyond grateful and appreciate all of the love and support there has been!

Katie "Kate the Great" Huber

Diagnosed with Hereditary Hemochromatosis (HHC) in 2019 and liver disease in 2023, Katie is a strong-willed, loving wife who’s most cherished title is Mom to darling, 3YO son Hank and sweet baby Mary who passed away at 13 days old in 2018.


Shortly after being laid off, Katie learned a liver transplant was her only option for survival. After a harrowing journey, she went into liver failure and received a full transplant on November 30th, 2023. Given the duress of the situation, the organ was less than optimal and unfortunately, has only created more issues.


While she was able to spend Christmas at home, she was readmitted due to complications quickly thereafter. She’s had 2 major operations & 12 procedures to date this year. Today, Katie’s numbers are trending in the right direction but she needs to find another match for a liver transplant in the very near future. She returned home to be with family as she waits for a new liver, again.


To care for Katie and Hank, John took an extended leave from work. Despite friends and family’s help, the medical bills are significant and finances have become more than challenging. Katie, John, and Hank are resilient, faithful and try to find the positive in every situation but all the prayers in the world are needed and deeply appreciated.
