Something happened at our last couple of Juicebox races that reminded me what Cheryl Hryn Racing 4 Kids is really about.

At our last race, we had a little incident on the track and one of our racers decided he didn’t want to race anymore. Instead of pushing him to get back in the kart, I asked if he wanted to help me with the flags.

So he did.

While we were flagging together, we talked about racing and eventually about maybe getting back in the kart. With a little encouragement from me mom Grandma and, more importantly, from the other kids, he decided he was ready. He got back in and raced again.

Then yesterday, Sophia and Eliza decided they didn’t want to race. They wanted to help me flag instead.

And you know what?

That is perfectly okay.

Maybe they were tired. Maybe next race they’ll be right back in their karts. Or maybe one of them discovers that she really loves standing behind those flags.

Because the goal doesn’t always have to be creating the next race car driver.

Maybe we’re creating a future flag person.

Maybe a crew member.

Maybe a crew chief.

Maybe someone who loves tech.

Maybe a track official, promoter, safety worker or someone who simply grows up loving racing and supporting their local racetrack.

Racing doesn’t survive on drivers alone. It takes all of us.

That’s one of the things I love most about what we’re doing with these kids. We’re giving them a chance to experience racing, learn different parts of it and find the place where THEY have fun.

If they grow up wanting to be behind the wheel, I’ll cheer them on.

If they grow up wanting to wave the green flag, turn wrenches, work in tech or help run a racetrack, I’ll cheer just as loud.

We’re not just trying to develop little racers.

We’re helping develop the next generation of RACING one child at a time. 🏁❤️

P.S. And that little racer who didn’t want to race anymore last time? Let’s just say he was NOT a happy camper when I called snack break yesterday. 😂 Apparently we’ve worked through that whole “I don’t want to race anymore” thing. 🏁😂

Just a quick update. It sounds like mini wedges could take off. I have a few calls to make tomorrow. It sounds like I could get some big help with this. I have a few things to figure out with the track also. So as soon as I know what direction I need to go in. Then I can let you all know. I do not want to abandon Juicebox we need to give my existing kids a place in all of this too. You guys rock!! Thank you!

These are the rules for Mini Wedge

COULD THIS BE THE NEXT STEP FOR OUR YOUNG RACERS?

We have been doing some homework, and before we go any further, Cheryl Hryn Racing 4 Kids wants to know if there would be interest in Mini Wedge racing in our area.

So what exactly is a Mini Wedge?

Don't let the size fool you. These are real, purpose-built youth race cars designed to give kids an opportunity to learn how to actually race.

The rules we're currently looking at use a stock Predator 212 engine, a full steel roll cage, racing seat and 5-point harness, along with required safety equipment for the driver. The cars have actual race procedures and rules designed specifically around young racers.

And one of the things I REALLY like about the concept is the philosophy behind it.

This isn't supposed to be about who can spend the most money.

The engine rules are designed to keep the cars equal and affordable and give every child an opportunity to compete without families feeling like they have to build an expensive motor just to keep up.

It's about teaching kids the fundamentals of racing, car control, sportsmanship, respect and how to compete.

That is exactly what caught my attention.

We have watched our little ones absolutely fall in love with racing through Juicebox Racing. But eventually those little racers grow up.

So I've been thinking...

What comes next?

Could Mini Wedges someday give some of those kids their next step into motorsports?

We're VERY early in looking into this. Nothing has been decided, and we're not announcing a new division or program. Right now, we're simply trying to find out whether the interest is there.

And because you all know me...

YES, I'm interested in seeing what could be done with these on ASPHALT.

So parents, grandparents and racing families I want to hear from you.

If Mini Wedge racing became available in our area, would you seriously consider getting your child involved?

Tell us your child's age and what you think in the comments.

Because if we're going to keep this sport alive for another generation, we have to give that next generation somewhere to start.

I actually think this explains your bigger idea better than simply asking “Who would be interested in Mini Wedges?” You're trying to figure out whether there is a realistic next level after Juicebox for kids who catch the racing bug.

Parents go ahead and enter through the pick gate at the north end of the property and just drive onto the racetrack. See you soon.

🏁 JUICEBOX RACING UPDATE!

Hey Juicebox families! Unfortunately, we are going to have to cancel our Juicebox race scheduled for Friday night.

With the rodeo happening this weekend, setup is already underway and the area we normally use for our little racers is being used for the rodeo.

But we won’t have to wait long! ❤️🏁

📅 Our next Juicebox race will be Saturday, August 29 at 12:00 PM!

So get those Juicebox cars charged up and ready to go! 🏎️💨

We’ll see all of our little Juicers on the 29th! ❤️🏁
