Meet Franklin!!!
A Sulcata Tortoise that was found at the Golconda Marina off the Ohio River. We picked him up at Giant City State Park in Makanda Illinois. He was found by a boat captain. A huge thank you to everyone that was involved in his rescue! We appreciate you!
We can't wait for our next open farm day so you all can fall in love with this big guy like we have!💗

You simply cannot keep ducks water clean🙄
Our newest ducks Bluey, Bingo & Elsa with Mother Goose, Quackerjack, MingMing & Splash.

- Baby ducklings can make sounds from inside their eggshells before they hatch.

- Ducks can live up to 20 years, depending on the species and if well cared for.

- All ducks have highly waterproof feathers. A duck's feathers are so waterproof that even when the duck dives underwater, the downy underlayer of feathers right next to the skin will stay completely dry.

- Pest Control: They eat slugs, snails, and mosquitoes.
W**d Control: They trim down unwanted plants like dandelions.

- Most female ducks quack, but most males make other sounds like whistles or grunts. They can fly up to 60 miles per hour and sleep with one eye open.

The Most Important Fact.....

- Ducks have a very fast metabolism and p**p constantly—about once every 7 to 15 minutes, or up to 96 times a day!!!!!

Also on March 30, 2026 Meryl Sheep went into labor. She had two babies but one was stillborn. This little boy & his momma are doing great. His name is Wooly Nelson😘

Dumpling had one baby one March 30, 2026. She had boy that we named Huckleberry. He is all black with bright blue eyes. Both momma & baby are doing great!🩵
The baby was named after a very sweet goat we lost a couple years ago.
