Arts Monongahela
Arts Council of Greater Morgantown

The Arts Council is focused on greater Morgantown and its creative industries; we play a unique role in growing the creative sector, including performing arts, visual arts and crafts, culture and heritage, (media and film, design, and culinary arts). Our mission is to advance the arts and enhance the community by investing in imagination, infras

tructure, and invention. We work to foster a thriving creative community by providing resources and support for the arts in the Greater Morgantown area. Through programming and our network, we construct and support diverse avenues for commercial and nonprofit creative success. Through our advocacy, we work to ensure that our region's creative industries are recognized not only for their cultural impact but also for their contribution to the region's economic development. Arts Mon was established as a nonprofit in 1999 as Arts Monongahela and became the City of Morgantown's official Arts Council in 2014.

On this National Nonprofit Day, we want to shoutout all the nonprofit organizations in our region making an impact through arts programming! 💵🎨🎭🖼️

At a time when funding for the arts is becoming increasingly limited, these groups continue to do more with less. Last week, $135,000 was awarded to 13 Mon County projects, to bring events, performances, classes and public art to the area. 🧑‍🎨

Interested in supporting the arts? Attend concerts, take classes, shop at local markets and donate!

Grants made possible by the City of Morgantown, Monongalia County Commission, and the YCF Douglas H. Tanner Memorial Fund for the Arts in collaboration with YCF and the Arts Council of Greater Morgantown.

Additional support from Stephen Wetmore, Anka M. Fantulin Endowment for Animal and Arts, The Arts Fund at YCF, and the Miles McKennan Foreman Youth Art Fund.
