💜 YEP! THANKS to Truth Pharm we are super excited to announce that the Trail of Truth Morgantown will be @ Healing Appalachia 2024 w/ our Trail of Truth National partner, Truth Pharm! That's right. MATSA folks will be bringing our special kinda Harm Reduction LOVE, spreading ALL things MOUD Awareness, painting memorial tombstones to honor the lives of our folks lost to substance use related causes & advocating for Harm Reduction & evidence based interventions for people struggling w/ substance use issues in West Virginia!

💜 We are EVERYWHERE...

At this point the majority of people in the US know SOMEONE who has lost their life to a substance use related death or overdose.

And sadly, so many of us have lost people we LOVE to substance use related causes.

Read on to find out about what happened to Truth Pharm when they encountered another someone @ the Presidental Debate, while they were looking for someone to print their RAD AF signs designed by Mia 💜

We're grateful for the whimsy that happens while we carry out our missions. While we were in Philly, we were looking for a printer to print block print styled flyers on pink paper and literally came upon a sandwich board for an art studio and fine printer. I was like, you never know, they might print these for us. 🤷‍♀️

Out from the studio comes who unbeknownst to us at the time, is incredibly passionate about ending overdose and the drug war! Much of his work centers around the pain of the people in Kensington. He's the creator of a project and art book, "Kensington Blues" which elevates the stories of the people who live there and struggle with addiction.

It was great to meet him and later look up his work and realize his level of dedication to the cause.

Just like that, some whimsy to power our day and actions.

💜🪦🕯️A Special Thank You from the Trail of Truth Morgantown...

We wanted to take a moment, this Monday to say a VERY Special Thank You to ALL of the folks who helped to make our 1st Trail of Truth Morgantown, such an overwhelmingly beautiful & IMPACTFUL event. Seeing and experiencing all that it has become as we've only just started to embark on this collaborative journey, is beyond inspirational. It gives us so much hope for acceptance & radical love, where all too often, despair, stigma & shame exist.

The conversations, the sharing of hearts, pain, grief, the unconditional LOVE shown & the CONNECTION that has taken place since the start of working to make the 1st Trail of Truth Morgantown possible, has been both humbling & breathtaking. We cannot WAIT to see what IMPACTFUL & NEEDED CHANGE, our effort will help to bring to Morgantown, throughout West Virginia & nationally!

We're talking ALL things substance use, harm reduction, the current criminalization of our unhoused neighbors via the "camping ban" just passed in Morgantown & so VERY MUCH MORE!

▪️To beautifully memorialize loved ones lost to substance use related causes
▪️To elevate the issue at the national level
▪️To provide a place for families to heal and unite
▪️To call for immediate access to treatment
▪️To call for the end of discriminatory practices in medical care
▪️To secure barrier free access to Naloxone nationwide
▪️Responsible and transparent spending of the opioid settlement funds with a focus on prioritizing the voices of impacted people in conversations and funding

💜🪦What is the Trail of Truth?

▪️The Trail of Truth, is a national effort among over 90 grassroots organizations with diverse opinions that have banded together to both beautifully memorialize our loved ones, but also use our collective loss to raise awareness and drive solutions to the drug epidemic.

▪️The Trail of Truth marks one of the first times that the various silos in the addiction and recovery community are setting aside their differences in opinion and coming together to prioritize the end goal: reducing deaths related to substance use.

▪️A national movement that not only memorializes our loved ones but is setting the example for unity to accomplish the goals that will save lives.
