District 29 Recap - Sep 50%
Good evening 29th District,
We jumped up from the first target but we have some work to do, keep working those programs.
REVIEW. REFINE. LEAD...you got this!!
Quick recap:
With help of District Deputies, we issued all membership cards quickly and effectively to all the Posts. We had a great showing for our last meeting at, Union City American Legion LeBaron Post 237, thank you for hosting.
Positive attendance at District Meetings helps all of us. We still continue to have a strong showing at the District meetings, but we can do better. Reach out to our neighboring Posts and see if someone needs a ride. Help each other out!
Two very positive points for Installations 2027:
- We had a total of 11 Posts requested Installation of Post Officers, this is 3 more than last year. Celebrate and recognize our hard workers, lets continue this trend throughout the year.
- We had 3 more District Deputies assisting, visiting the Posts, and connecting with our Veterans. I want to thank District Deputies: Michael Cortes. Bill Adiutori, Dave Brigham, and Jay Bradley. This is a good display working together and continuing to build our District leaders. This was a huge help, thank you! There were multiple times where we were conducting Installations at the same time or conducting battlefield circulation.

-I’m conducting Posts visits and its been great seeing everyone, I’m sitting at 36% for the first site visit of Posts and scheduling a couple more soon.
I have DEC in a week and half, more updates/guidance will follow.
Membership: (stats are from 9/8/25)
We are 44.89% for our District, most of us are hitting the ground running and doing much better. The District Deputies and myself will work closer with some of the remaining.
As a District we did climb the ranks and I feel next month we will have another jump, currently we sit 23 of 27.
I want to thank the Posts that are making goal, and keep it up! Key is to reaching those membership goals each month and not get behind.
I changed the color coding for % of Goal. If you’re green you made goal, if you’re amber you haven’t made the previous goal.
- Nice work to a total of (3) Posts for making goal, many are right there.
No report of top ten Post by class or new members, I will reach up.

* if its not “our” event I don’t create an event for it besides the PSSH as I was given permission to do so.
- I have created Coffee with Commander: Buddy Check for the rest of the year. If you've never called in...give it a try...maybe this is something you can use to reach some of your members abroad.
-Patriot Day Memorial Ceremony / 9-11 September 11th
-POW Day September 18th (third Friday in September) event in Erie.
Legion College November 7th
- I would strongly encourage each Post sending at least two members to Legion College, one should be in membership, adjutant or not. There are always new things to learn!
Online registration this year again. Lets have a great showing!
- Lets try to get an District 29 picture morning of, I’ll push out a time prior to the event.
Due outs:
Lets further develop the American Legion programs specifically the Essay and Oratorical
County and District has funds set aside for the winners, this is a great way to work into the communities discussing opportunities available
