Hello all, I am starting a new project and I need help. Let me introduce myself, I am William H Boyd Sr., I was born and raised in the beautiful state of West Virginia. I have been a Paramedic for 30 years helping my communities with my skills as a First Responder. After 30 years unfortunately the career that I have loved is coming to an end, however, I want to continue helping people. I have always joked that if I ever hit the lottery for big money, I would take a portion of the winnings and build Tiny Town, a community of tiny houses that would house homeless people at no cost to them. Bring them inside especially for the winter. Although, we all know what the likeliness of hitting the lottery is. That is why I am coming to you the people for help. I have a plan that will fund the project, but let me tell you a little about the project first.
These people have nothing except what they are carrying, and most of them just need a break and a little help to get back on their feet. They will be able to stay in the home until they are able to fend for themselves, and feel comfortable moving out on their own. I want to be able to not only house them and pay utilities. In the beginning I would like find counselors that can help them with other services, like healthcare, rehab if needed, assistance with job searches and creating resumes, and they will need clothing that is suitable for job interviews.
I would like to start a Non-Profit foundation to provide these services to our homeless. Families with children would be a priority as well as our homeless veterans, eventually we would attempt to help all of the homeless population of the areas we operate in. I am starting this foundation in my home state of West Virginia, however, eventually I would like to take the foundation Nationwide.
Now for the hard part, my plan to fund this project is to ask for donations. My plan is to ask everyone to donate $1.00 each, if I could get everyone on board in my home state of West Virginia, and if everyone in the state donated $1.00 that would be 1,800,000.00 dollars to start providing the stated services to our homeless. That won’t fund the entire project but would give it a healthy start. We would be coming back every year for continued funding for growth and expansion at the very reasonable $1.00 per person. Please feel free to donate any amount you feel comfortable with, but all I am asking for is the $1.00 per person.
With this being the season of giving I thought it would be the perfect time to launch this fund-raising campaign. I feel this is a very worthwhile project and hope to see your donations to support this project. Please with your donation provide your email address if you want to receive progress reports on how the foundation is doing. I will be setting up a Go Fund Me account, and you can donate directly to me via PayPal using [email protected] please if you use the PayPal method put a note “for the foundation”, this is my personal PayPal account eventually I will start one for the foundation.
