Junior Auxiliary of East St. Mary East St. With child welfare in mind, these ten groups hoped to seek strength and inspiration from a sharing of ideas by uniting into a national organization.

Mary Parish Junior Auxiliary, is a nonprofit organization with a focus on child welfare dedicating its hearts and hands to the children and citizens of need in this community. The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries was founded in 1941 by one hundred enthusiastic women representing organizations from ten towns in Mississippi and Arkansas. For years, these groups had been assisting their res

pective communities in the systematic care and welfare of underprivileged children and in civic endeavors dealing with suffering and poverty due to the economic depression beginning in 1929. The original idea of sharing has grown. The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries now numbers over eight times that original group of chapters and has thousands of members in several southeastern states. The Junior Auxiliary represents an endeavor on the part of women to be active and constructive community participants and to assume leadership roles in meeting community needs. Junior Auxiliary members serve and are a vital part of the community. The objectives are to render charitable services which are beneficial to the general public, with particular emphasis on children; to cooperate with other Charitable 501 (c)(3) organizations." The East St. Mary Parish Junior Auxiliary believes each child is important. Through many projects our members share love, time, and resources needed to help each child be his or her best. As we spread our efforts and love among these children, we envision their roles in the development of our community.
