Marion Meadows' career took off after he joined drummer Norman Connors' band, producing the "Passion" album. His solo career began with the release of "For Lovers Only" in 1991. A pivotal moment occurred in the late '80s when his impromptu performance at New York’s Grand Central Station caught the attention of producer Jay Chattaway, leading to a collaboration with keyboardist Bob James.

Over the years, Meadows has performed and recorded with a host of celebrated artists, including Brook Benton, Eartha Kitt, Phyllis Hyman, The Temptations, Michael Bolton, and Angela Bofill. He also ventured into avant-garde music with the Aboriginal Music Society in the late '80s.
