Does God Hear Us?
Does God hear us when we are in difficulty.?

We may not feel that God hears us, but scripture tells us that he does hear us, so even if we don’t “feel“ that God hears us, the fact remains that he does. Scripture repeats that God hears the prayers of his people, that he knows our thoughts and intentions. The reason scripture says this is for us to learn to retain and to know with certainty that God does hear us even when we feel he does not.

We must read and believe that, indeed, God hears our prayers, knows our thoughts, and is for us, even if things do not seem to be going the way we want them to go. One of the main reasons for reading scripture every single day is to reinforce in our minds God’s truths so that when situations arise, that we doubt or question, the answer will always come back to God cares, God does, God will be for us.

Repetitive actions bring about what we call “muscle memory”, muscle memory allows us to instantaneously know what to do because we have been conditioned through practice over and over to respond a certain way so that when difficulty comes we don’t have to wonder and question what to do. We instinctively respond to the situation. This is the value of reading scripture every single day. when bad stuff happens around us we do not have to wonder if God hears us because we have been conditioned through training, reading, and preparation to know that God hears us, and that he will respond perfectly every single time.

Spiritual Dry Spells
Dry spells are the instrument of God, for your good. Yes it is true in such times, your five senses have been deprived and all outward progress of outward piety ends. Know this: In such times you are either going to leave off prayer, and perhaps even a large part of your Christian walk, or you will be driven to a comfort which has nothing to do with the outward senses.
There is always a veil that comes to us in relationship to times of dryness; it is a time when we do not know what he is doing. If we always knew what his working was (as he works on our outward man and works in our inward man) we would become very presumptuous. We would imagine we were doing quite well if we always knew what he was doing, would we not?
A dependence upon outward circumstances (everything about your spiritual understanding depending on your outward senses) all of this must go by the way. How? By dryness!
The Lord uses these arid lands, these desert places. …through this you will learn the gift of perseverance.

Created With Our Flaws
God created us with our flaws, the flaws are His perfection, why do we always want to change our flaws? The things we look at within or out are in reality His perfection. He made us the way we are not the way we’ve been taught we “should be”.
If I’m fearfully and wonderfully made, and I am, (Psalm 139:14) then I am created perfect just as I am (with all my flaws). How freeing!
Be comfortable in our own skin, when we come to the place of being comfortable with our flaws, His perfection, we will then not be controlled by what the world or others have labeled us to be…

Or are you denying the right of the potter to make out of clay whatever he wants? Doesn’t the potter have the right to make from the same lump of clay an elegant vase or an ordinary pot? Romans 9:21 (TPT)

Morning Mumblings

Love Is Greater Than Knowledge
Now let me address the issue of _____________…. It seems that everyone believes his own opinion is right on this matter. How easily we get puffed up over our opinions! But love builds up the structure of our new life. If anyone thinks of himself as a know-it-all, he still has a lot to learn. But if a person passionately loves God, he will possess the knowledge of God. 1 Corinthians 8:1-3

Jesus Is Missing
I’ve been off facebook for sometime and haven’t posted anything on this page for a long while but this crossed my mind today.
Luke 2:43 (TPT) A full day after they began their journey home, Joseph and Mary realized that Jesus was missing.
When I read this my first thought is how could two parents lose their son after a whole day? When I was in high school and overslept and missed the school bus I would have to walk about three miles to get to school and it would take me about an hour or so. If Mary and Joseph walked 3 miles an hour for eight hours they would’ve been about twenty to twenty five miles from Jerusalem when they realized their son was missing.
How about us? We have the Holy Spirit living within us and we have Jesus Christ as our elder brother, best friend, and closest love, and we go a day often times more and don’t even realize we left him behind. If Mary and Joseph the earthly parents of Jesus Christ could lose their son then it is certainly possible for us to do the same.

(TPT) Mary scolded him, saying, “Son, your father and I have searched for you everywhere! We have been worried sick over not finding you.
I also find it interesting, like us, we shift the blame from our lack of awareness of His presence in our lives, back to God for somehow leaving us and not being there for us!
Perhaps it’s time to turn around and go back to where we left him, find him, get back with him, and get back to our Fathers business.

The Glory of the Lord

The glory of the Lord is to be carried on the shoulders of men.
In reading of the requirements to work in and around the Tabernacle, and the requirements to bring offerings for our sin, if it was not done correctly a person would die.
How is it we take the daily walk of our lives so nonchalantly, we allow less then holy thoughts and actions to rule our day. I know the blood of Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness but should we not pause through our day and consider His perfect sacrifice and then: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16). Which a better translation would be “be complete because I am complete”. So in the one state, our spirit, is complete, however our soul or flesh is not complete as it continues to do the very things we (our spirit) don’t want to do. (Paul Romans 7)
I am not suggesting I have this any where near perfect or even do so on a daily basis, but it is brought to mind as I read Scripture.
