Today, Moravia Fire & Rescue had the opportunity to visit Moravia School and spend time with students in Preschool through 2nd Grade for our annual Fire Prevention Program!
This year’s theme was “Charge Into Safety!” ⚡ We talked with students about important fire safety skills, including:
-Recognizing smoke alarms and knowing what to do when they sound.
-Having a home fire escape plan and a safe meeting place.
-Safely charging electronic devices and recognizing electrical hazards.
-Knowing when to Stop, Drop, and Roll.
-Knowing when and how to call 911.
-Understanding that firefighters are there to help and should never be feared or hidden from.
Remember: Fire safety doesn’t stop when the presentation ends. Parents, take a few minutes tonight to talk with your children about what they learned, test your smoke alarms, and practice your family’s escape plan.
