✨️Happy New Year!✨️

We are very excited to see what we can make happen this year for MACT! With all of your support and the wonderful participants we have - I believe we have a bright future!

We are accepting submissions of One-Act Plays until the end of February. These can be anywhere from 5-15 minutes long. We have two submissions so far, remember we would like to showcase anywhere from 5-10. If you have an idea for a longer one (15-30 minutes) please write and submit that, as we may have some room for longer ones if we don't get more submissions.

️🎭THE MACT SPOTLIGHT COLLECTIVE✨️

We have multiple different ways you can become involved in our next project! All the information is pictured below. We can't wait to begin!

Our next act of the evening was a scene from Echoes of Enora. If you missed the show and would like to see it, it is up on our youtube channel “Mora Area Community Theatre” where you will also be able to find this performance. Something you may not know about the scene you're about to see, is it was a struggle up until it hit the stage. The lines would challenge even seasoned actors, and these ladies took on the challenge beautifully. The heaviness of the scene and the things that get revealed rely heavily on each single line. When one gets missed, it can send the whole scene spiralling. But on the day of the show, Amber, Natalie, and Jess pulled off a miracle and no one would’ve ever known this was a problem scene. This scene, while not community based - comes from a show that was born of passion to bring people together and make something spectacular. For the community, by the community has been the goal since the beginning. Here is a peek into the world of Echoes of Enora.

Up next we will be hearing from a supporter of MACT since the beginning, Andrew Long. I met Andrew earlier this year when Echoes of Enora was still just a dream. Though he was too busy at the time to audition, Andrew is looking forward to being a part of future projects and productions with MACT. Andrew helped move set pieces on and off stage for Echoes of Enora and has always ready to help as much as he could to make the show a success.

Andrew will be singing a selection from the musical Dear Evan Hansen - Waving Through a Window. Andrew said: “I chose ‘Waving Through A Window’ because it captures how the need for community is so important”.

For those who aren’t familiar with the show, Dear Evan Hansen explores how isolation can fester and take over a person’s mind. The main character experiences this so intensely that he fabricates an entire friendship, building lie after lie until the weight becomes unbearable. It’s an uncomfortable story that reveals truths many of us avoid — and that’s exactly why it matters. It reminds us that human connection isn’t a luxury; it’s essential. When we always feel like we’re on the outside looking in, we lose the chance to belong — and, more importantly, to let others belong to us. Community is what pulls us back through the window. Please welcome to the stage: Andrew Long!

Our first act of the evening was one of the women who made this all possible, Debbie Morrison. Debbie and Jim Morrison, for those of you who don’t know are the owners and creators of Sapsucker Farms. Not only had they donated the use of the space to us for the fundraiser, they have supported MACT since the very beginning. They are always willing and excited to help out in any way they can with projects, and are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. Join me in giving the warmest welcome to our first act of the night: Debbie Morrison on piano!
