Moody Crazy Quilters / Moody Kids' Quilts, Moody, Al

Moody Crazy Quilters / Moody Kids' Quilts, Moody, Al We welcome anyone who is interested in making quilts for needy children. It is Helpful if you have a sewing machine. Or we can put you to work ironing, cutting!

We meet once a month at Moody City Hall. In February 2010 a group of ladies met at Doris Stanley Library in Moody, AL, gave themselves the name Moody Crazy Quilters, and began making quilts for sick children. Over the past years, we have made many quilts, including over 90 full to king size quilts for families who lost everything in the April 27, 2011 tornado; to the 98 quilts we made in 2015 and

gave to sick children at Children's of Alabama. We donate the quilts we make to community efforts including the Toys for Kids program and other worthy organizations. We grew quickly in number, so Moody City Hall gave us a room with large tables in which to sew; as well as storage for our supplies. We are happy to have a good place to sew at City Hall, and we welcome new members. We meet the first Monday of each month at 9:30 a.m. and sew till noon and beyond. Membership is $1.25 month, which is used to purchase batting and other supplies for making the quilts.

Here are some quilts that are finished recently by our quilters. We’re stocking up for the Christmas Store !
