Our mission is to restore hope and dignity by removing barriers and walking alongside those in need History of Exchange Ministries
In 2017, Exchange Ministries was founded on the belief that an "exchange" represents transformation, taking something old and making it new. At its core, the ministry exists to bring renewal, offering individuals, communities, and organizations a fresh start and prepar
ing them for a new journey. In its early years, Exchange Ministries operated internationally. Director Scott Wilson traveled to countries such as Liberia, Africa, where he partnered with Equip to Serve Ministries to host biblical conferences. These gatherings equipped local pastors with tools for more effective Bible teaching and ministry leadership. Pastors traveled from surrounding areas to attend training sessions that strengthened their understanding of Scripture and their impact in their communities. Pastor Scott also collaborated with Pacific Hope, a medical ship that delivers supplies and healthcare to remote island nations. On a mission trip to Vanuatu, he assisted in establishing a brick-and-mortar medical clinic on the island while Pacific Hope continued its outreach by sea, offering care to those in need. Each trip aimed to serve the hurting, restore hope, and empower others to grow into more effective leaders in their ministry work. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic halted foreign travel, causing Exchange Ministries to pivot. Recognizing the profound impact of isolation, the ministry transitioned to focus on local and stateside outreach. Director Scott began working with school athletic programs, mentoring sports officials, and creating training opportunities and jobs for underserved individuals. Sports became a powerful tool to rebuild community and improve mental health. Exchange Ministries also expanded into the world of pickleball. Recognizing the toll isolation had taken on many, especially seniors, the ministry saw how pickleball provided a joyful, accessible way to get active, reconnect with others, and reestablish a sense of belonging. What began as a simple sport quickly became a vehicle for healing and community renewal. During this time, the ministry also launched a podcast called Give’m Heaven to continue sharing biblical encouragement and teaching when in-person outreach wasn’t possible. As the needs of the community evolved, so did Exchange Ministries. What started as an international mission has now shifted its focus to local transformation; meeting people where they are, restoring connection, and continuing the mission of renewal through new and unexpected avenues.
