Look at me! For most of the year, I do my best to blend in, but not in the spring. I’m a Claret Cup Cactus, and for a few weeks each year, usually sometime in April or May, I really look pretty in the desert landscape. My flowers help provide nectar to the hummingbirds that are just arriving. My scientific name is Echinocereus trichlochidiatus, and I’m sometimes called the Kingcup Cactus or Hedgehog Cactus. In 2014, I became the official State Cactus of Colorado!

The New Outdoor After-School Program begins this Monday!
There are still open spots.
Give kids the chance to explore nature, play active games, and enjoy fresh air after the school day. Activities encourage teamwork, creativity, and a love for the outdoors.

All activities take place 100% outside (except severe weather). Transportation is provided from all public schools!

Fee: $275 - Scholarships and fee assistance is available for needs based enrollment!

Days/Times: Monday-Thursday 3:00-6:00 PM

Dates: March 23 - May 20

Grades: 1-5
