Before yesterday's school board meeting, EMM held a cookout at Ellison Park for community members, union members, and anyone who was there to support us as we entered Day 335 without a contract. This included members from neighboring teacher unions who took time out of their night to make sure we knew we were supported by them. Thank you!

After the cookout, 200+ members of the Monticello Community walked back to the Board Room for the School Board meeting, filling the Board Room before moving to the Activity Room for overflow seating.

During the meeting, community members, parents, and former students warmed our hearts with their kind words about us as Monticello educators. This included all we have done for them in the past and all we will continue to do for them, their kids, and this community that we all love.

This afternoon teachers from Pinewood, Little Mountain Eastview and traveled to MMS and MHS as a united group as we continue to fight for a new contract.

Today is Day 331 without a contract for Monticello educators who continue to show up each and every day for our students.

Thanks to all the people driving by who honked in support of our teachers and for those who came and walked with us this afternoon in show of support of ISD 882 educators.

This morning, teachers from Monticello Middle School and Monticello High School traveled to Eastview, Pinewood, and Little Mountain as a united group as we continue to fight for a new contract.

Literacy is integrated in Ms Polenik’s math class in an effort to build both academic and real-world communication skills. Mathematical understanding requires students to read, write, discuss, explain, and reflect on their thinking. In her class, students focus on making math visible and connecting it to their future goals and everyday life.

Teaching is teamwork.

On Wednesday, Education Minnesota-Monticello gave our annual scholarship to Callie H. at MHS Scholarship Awards Night.
