It's a boy was not the only news we got that day. They told us I have an one celled umbilical cord. For what resulted in Hunter having a heart defect. He was diagnosed with Hypoplastic right ventricle, but he would not act right so we could not get a lot of pictures to know more. Which put me having a high risk pregnancy and have to go on early maternity leave. Thank The Lord my husband is working
his bottom off to support us.
1/13/14 we went to UAB to get more pictures of baby Hunter's Heart and found out that he had hypoplastic right ventricle / tricuspid atresia. ( which is a condition where blood can't flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle. As a result the right ventricle is small and not fully developed. ). We will have to give birth at UAB almost 2 hours away from where we live. Being that I will have to be induced my 39th week to make sure he will be born there. We will most likely be there for a while and be separated from his daddy. We were told he will have to have multiple surgerys. Starting with one right after birth. He will have to have surgery to either put a shunt or a pulmonary band. Then at 3-6 months he will have to have another surgery to help his heart to work normal called the bidirectional Glenn Operation. Then around 2 years he will have another surgery called Fontana Operation. We will not know if he will or won't have any other problems, hopfully this will only thing we will have to tackle and my son can have an almost normal childhood for a little boy.
4/6/14. we have had our first surgery. We got a shunt put in our heart. They went in thew under my arm. So I now have a smile under my arm. Doing good taking our time eating giving all my doctors a scare. But mommy has faith In me and knows God will get us threw it. They have change pd me from breast milk to formula to see if that helps with my tummy problems. I'm slowly starting to eat 60ml. Maybe we will get to go home soon. Surgeries:
At birth either a shunt or pulmonary band
3-6 months bidirectional Glenn
Around 2 years a fontan
