Junior Olympic Volleyball

All girls in grades 5-11 are invited to participate in the Montevideo Thunder JO Volleyball program. An informational meeting will be held on Sunday, November 5th, 6:00 PM, at the Montevideo Community Center. This meeting is for parents and students. Girls in grades 7-11 MUST have played volleyball during the 2023 school season to participate in Montevideo’s JO volleyball program. Forms and information will be available at the meeting. All registration forms need to be turned in by Wednesday November 22nd. Registration forms will NOT be accepted after that deadline, this is a hard stop, as we need a deadline to establish teams and schedule tournaments. Practices will probably begin mid to late February and season will last approximately 8 weeks pending tournament dates. Tryouts may be held depending on number of participants. We’ve put a wrap on the JO VB season for another year! Congrats and thank you to all of the players, families and coaches who were involved with the program. It was fun to see the improvements and positive strides the girls made!

Within the next week or so the current committee will be meeting to review the season and share suggestions and ideas for next year - and we’re looking for a couple of individuals to help guide and support the program. The wrap up meeting would be a great time to come and learn more! Please message us if interested in hearing more, we’d love to have you! ❤️🏐

Huge shout out and CONGRATS to all of the amazing girls and coaches who played in the 14’s tournament today at home! 🥇🥈🥉 Also a big THANK YOU to all of the parents and fans who sat for 11 hours to support our girls, you ROCK as well! What a fun day on the court! The future looks bright! 🔆

Let’s hope the weather is all resolved by Sunday, our first day for JO VB practice! 🏐🏐 5-7 grades will practice 4:30-6:30 pm and 8th on up will practice 6:30-8:30 pm. Please try to be on time as doors are preprogrammed for specific open and close times. All practices will be held at the high school gym. All apparel and jerseys are ready and will be distributed Sunday at practice, but if you are out and about and would like it sooner please send us a message, happy to meet up and deliver a few beforehand too! Looking forward to starting the JO VB season!

Quick update so folks can start organizing their calendars! Our first JO VB practice will be Sunday February 26. The 5th, 6th and 7th grade groups will practice from 4:30-6:30 pm with the 8th grade and up girls practicing from 6:30-8:30 pm. Sundays will be the only practice days for the 5/6 and 7th grade group. 8th grade and up will also practice Thursdays from 6:30-8:30. At this time all practices are scheduled to be held in the high school gym. We may have to be flexible to location changes at times due to school practices. We will use this page and age/coach specific text groups for any changes. We will follow school guidelines for weather related changes, no school no practice. Specific age group calendars will be available the first night of practice which will outline tournament dates, if you have specific questions please reach out to Tracy or Wendy for more info prior to practice. Tournaments and league play aren’t quite finalized but hoping to have them set within a couple of wks.

The link is now open to order JO VB jerseys! This is for all girls 7th grade and up. You do not need to know jersey number, a list of who has what number will be submitted directly to Outlaw. Simply chose your size and complete the order. If you have questions please contact outlaw directly. You are able to stop down in person and try on sizes and order in person if you prefer. The link will be open for approximately a week.

Last day for apparel order is Friday, December 2. This order is completely optional and will be processed after the first of the year and delivered close to the start of practice. Order form is in the google document previously posted that has all of the other forms. Please let us know if any questions!

JO VB final day for registration is Wednesday November 16th at 5 pm. Forms are all available in a google doc which was posted earlier on our page. Please ask if you have ANY questions or need point of contact for form collection. No late registration forms will be accepted after the deadline. Looking forward to a good season! Details regarding ordering jerseys and practices will come at a later date. 🏐
