Our 4-H 🍀 youth livestock stockman's program held practices weekly January to March and competed at 5 regional and state skillathon contests. Special thanks goes to our local host farms during this year's farm visits and practices:
🌱 Katie Amirault /KA Stock Services
🐄 Rodney Leech / Lucky Loop Hollow Farm
🥩The Thalers / Hazy Hollow Farm
🐑 Emily Donaldson
Practices included individualized discussion around each farm's specific goals. Youth worked on basic judging terminology and gained confidence in identifying desirable livestock characteristics for different production purposes. We also appreciate the support of other Virginia team coaches lending resources and expertise along the way. We look forward to the growth of this program again next year.
