We extend our sincerest gratitude to GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s Office for once again inviting SMP to partner with them for a Savvy Senior program yesterday, this time at St. James Alpharetta. Attendees were treated to breakfast as they heard from panels of experts on older adult financial wellness and fraud awareness, the latter of which our State Team Lead Nathan Coflin sat on.

Thank you to Kim Scofi and the whole team at United Military Care for having SMP once again take part in their We CARE Veterans Fair in Rome last week. It was a packed event full of amazing resources for veterans, their caregivers, and families. We are already looking forward to the Columbus We Care Veterans Fair next month.

Our wonderful SMP volunteer Michael Wald is excited to be tabling alongside Shirley Thomas from our sister program SHIP today at Gwinnett Daily Post’s Generations Expo, happening at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville. SMP is here at this free event until 2pm today talking to attendees about how they can prevent, detect, and report fraud targeting their Medicare.

Another successful and empowering Savvy Senior Program was held yesterday, this time at the beautiful UNG-Blue Ridge Campus. Savvy Senior is an initiative aimed at educating older adults on financial wellness and fraud prevention, organized by GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s Office in partnership with Senior Medicare Patrol and UNG Evergreen Learning.

Our SMP Team Lead Nathan Coflin sat on the second expert panel moderated by award winning journalist Donna Lowry, where they discussed how older adults can protect themselves from fraud in Medicare. We are very appreciative to the Secretary of State’s Office for partnering with us on this venture and to the team at UNG Evergreen Learning for hosting and helping promote the event to older adults in their community.

Senior Medicare Patrol had a wonderful time co-hosting the Cherokee County Animal Shelter alongside Cherokee Triad - S.A.L.T for another in our series of Salty Dog Academy classes. Thank you to the team at Cherokee County Animal Shelter for the talk and tour, the county is truly lucky to have such an involved group of individuals looking out for their pets.
