This week we celebrated all 2025-2026 Students of the Month from Ringgold High School at a luncheon in school. We would love to congratulate each and every one of these young adults, and indeed every graduating member of the Ringgold Class of 2026.

Today at the senior awards ceremony, Monongahela Rotary President Jen McNamara awarded our two annual scholarships to two of these fine graduates. Both scholarships are named after former members of the Rotary Club of Monongahela, who loved their community and did their best to personify the Rotary motto “Service above self”.

Congratulations to Isabella Hooper on being the recipient of the Owen Burns Memorial Scholarship, and to Jason Melendez Jr for receiving the Horace F Garvin Memorial Scholarship! We wish you every success in life, and hope that in some way your future will allow you to provide service above self to your community.

This past Friday we welcomed the boys of Ringgold’s Class of 2026 to our annual luncheon. Monongahela’s own General Papak gave a short speech about finding your purpose in life, having mentorship to guide you, and the saying “if not me, then who”. Thank you very much to all the boys who came, and we wish good luck and success in all future endeavors to every member of the Class of 2026.

Thank you to General Papak and to Ponce's Place for helping us host a wonderful event for these young men.

As a follow-up to our prior donation to the Monongahela City Police, we have recently donated more Comfort Bags to area fire departments! These bags are for the unfortunate situation in which someone may have a house fire or other event leading to displacement, where the fire departments can provide that person with some basics and a bag to carry anything they’re able to quickly grab from their home. While we hope they will sit and collect dust for years to come, we are happy to provide this service to our area should it be necessary. Thank you to the Monongahela Fire Department, the New Eagle VFD, and the Valley Inn Volunteer Fire Department for allowing us to take your photo with our bags.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to our Comedy Night this evening! We saw lots of friendly faces, and we especially want to thank the members of the Rotary of Washington, Pa., Belle Vernon Area Rotary Club, and Brownsville Rotary for showing up and paying it back to support us. Thank you to our fantastic comedians, Michael Cheselka, Doug Sluk, and Brittany Alexis for having a diverse set of jokes that catered to all the age groups of our attendees. We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves tonight, and that you would consider joining us again in the future!
