Meet Spencer: A Sweet Soul Ready to Learn What Love Means Spencer is a gorgeous 10-month-old long-haired Australian Shepherd mix who is looking for a patient, compassionate foster hero. We believe Spencer has spent his entire short life confined to a kennel or kept strictly outside. Because of this, the big world inside a human home is completely brand new to him. He appears to have never stepped foot inside a house before, and he is understandably very scared. Despite his rough start and initial shyness, Spencer has a heart of absolute gold. He needs a quiet environment and a minute to warm up to new faces, but once he knows he is safe, his true colors shine through. He transforms into the ultimate love bug who craves affection and gentle touch. Spencer needs a dedicated foster savior to show him the ropes of domestic life. He needs to learn that indoor sounds aren’t threats, that a soft bed belongs to him, and that human hands bring nothing but comfort. We knew we were in for a wild ride the moment we brought in this nine-month-old retriever mix. He did not arrive with a majestic trot or a confident stride. Instead, he made his grand entrance into our lives by inventing a completely new method of canine locomotion.

As it turned out, this sweet boy had never encountered a hard floor in his entire life. The second his paws hit the shiny surface, his brain went into panic mode, but his legs went into full-out cartoon mode. His front legs shot forward, his back legs splayed out flat behind him, and he instantly transformed into a furry, living Swiffer. He did not walk into the kennels; he hydroplaned. It was at that exact moment we realized his name had to be Slyder

Once he mastered the art of friction, Slyder’s true, wonderfully goofy personality exploded. He is an absolute praise ju**ie. If you tell him he is a "good boy," his entire body vibrates with such intense joy that we are pretty sure he could power a small city block.
Slyder also has zero concept of personal space. He is convinced that he is a two-pound lap dog rather than a growing retriever mix. He loves people with a fierce, boundary-free passion and treats every human he meets like a long-lost best friend. His daily checklist consists entirely of demanding full-body hugs, extorting people for deep ear scratches, and trying to launch himself into the lap of anyone who sits down for more than three seconds.
When he isn’t busy sliding across the floor or enthusiastically demanding affection, Slyder acts as the shelter’s self-appointed, overly social chair. He loves other dogs with the heat of a thousand suns. Every time he sees another pup, his eyes light up, his tail spins like a helicopter propeller, and he practically begs, "Please be my best friend!

Sometimes the heart just wants what it wants. Here is a beautiful love story about a girl and her dog. From the very first day he laid paws on her, Chubb Chubb fell completely in love with our youngest shelter volunteer, Annalisse. Since then, she has been taking amazing care of him—feeding him, walking him, and even bringing him home as a foster. The entire time, she knew he was looking for a permanent home. The other day, she walked up and asked for Chubb Chubb's official adoption papers. She worked incredibly hard to fill out the application, and she did a flawless job! If a five-year-old can fill out an adoption application, so can you! Change a life and adopt a shelter pet today.

Update: Foster found! Thank you all so much for sharing!

We are currently looking for a foster for 5 kittens for a few weeks. They are starting to eat solids but still need supplemental formula syringe feeding 3-4 times a day. Formula, food and supplies will be provided.

Due to the high demand for grooming appointments and our amazing groomers currently being booked with their established clients, we are excited to announce a new option for clients looking to get established with a groomer! 🐾

🐶 Lucky Luke’s Grooming by Sammy is now accepting new grooming clients!

As appointment availability fills, there is also potential for Saturday appointments to be added in the future to better accommodate our clients’ schedules.
