It's frustrating seeing everyone literally hate on phone apps but yet these are the same people who use ovilous and things which basically does the same thing, spit out words.. if you don't like phone apps whatever..that's fine, don't use them but I think it's kind of ridiculous that people are telling other people how to investigate and "you'll never investigate with us if you pull out your phone and use it".
Should people try use every single word that comes out to try to connect the dots of something haunted in that location? no. Personally I think you should be using it as a tool and seeing if you get anything relevant through it, in one session using a particular app, five of us without saying anything in advance heard all of our names be said and even one person heard their last name said very loud and clear and not one of us said our last names at the location. At another place I even lifted up one of my pant legs and asked what color is on my sock and there was only two colors. it named one very specifically. so you can doubt apps all you want, that's 100% your choice but you really shouldn't tell people that all apps are bogus because maybe you seen YouTubers use them in the wrong way. once again it comes down to the people using things not the device itself.
