Welcome everyone, and thank you for joining me today. I am proud to introduce The King Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to fentanyl awareness and education.
We are here to honor the memory of Marcus, who was tragically lost when he was poisoned by fentanyl placed in his drink. Our mission is to prevent this heartbreak from reaching other families by providing the education, advocacy, and resources needed to keep our community safe.
Tonight marks the start of our journey to turn pain into purpose. Please follow our new page to stay updated on our programs and join us in this vital fight. Why do you call it "poisoning" instead of "overdose"?
"An overdose often implies a known risk or a struggle with addiction. Poisoning happens when someone is deceived—like when a substance is secretly put into a drink. It’s about a lack of knowledge and a lack of consent, and we believe the language we use should reflect that truth."

2. What is the main goal of The King Initiative?
"Our goal is education and prevention. We want to make sure every parent, friend, and young person knows how easily fentanyl can be hidden. We are turning our pain into a platform to save the next person."

3. How can the community help?
"Right now, you can help by sharing our mission and starting these hard conversations at home. Awareness is our best defense. Follow our page for upcoming resources and educational programs we’ll be launching soon."

One of the most important things you can do for these families is to help them reclaim the narrative.
​"overdose" implies someone took too much of something they knew they were taking, whereas "poisoning" means they were deceived by a lethal substance.
​The Goal: This helps remove the stigma and shame that many families feel, allowing them to speak more openly.

"I created this ribbon for Marcus, but I want to share it with all of you. The 'MK' represents my husband, but it also stands for the Memories and Knowledge we carry.The King Initiative" and the MK Ribbon. Explain that this is your new official advocacy group.

So I'm making a memorial tribute wall my husband was poisoned killers never charged i feel like I have failed him cause there is no justice for him. I'm going crazy trying to figure who what where and when. So I'm gonna do this tribute in his memory and all who have fallen to this monster called fentanyl

So I have been struggling these past few months excepting my husband's death fully and want to do something to honor him and add many others as possible so I'm gonna make a tribute wall i can't put everyone on it but I'll put ad many as i can if your want your loved one on it part inbox their name , age, and favorite thing a song, a pass time whatever reminds you of them and I will make it and share with everyone
