Unacceptable.

The Environmental Protection Agency wants to scrap its requirement for public feedback on some new industrial facilities — including many data centers — a move that environmental activists say they interpret as the latest step by the Trump administration to aid the artificial intelligence sector amid growing backlash.

As the nation’s AI industry builds out at high speed, mom-and-pop organizers and environmental advocacy groups across the country have written to regulators and packed hearings to oppose air permits for data centers in their communities.

July 10-12 - The The Clotilda Story - Clotilda Descendants Association's annual Landing Event and Ancestors Festival will be taking place alongside the first Africatown Middle Passage Convening, the annual Africatown Plateau-Pacers' community walk & kickball game, the Africatown Heritage Preservation Foundation's Swim Program, tours of the historic Mobile County Training School - MCTS Alumni Association Whippets Den and a Lantern Walk, a tent revival at First Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, kayak tours at the new Lewis Landing Park by the Mobile Baykeeper, guided tours to the Clotilda wreck site by ALL Things Africatown / Africa Town Freedom Tours / What You Say! Air quality is a huge weakness in our state. Dust, fumes, haze, noxious odors, cancerous emissions, ultra fine diesel emissions (directly linked with stroke, cardiac, and neurological disorder risk), etc are all mostly ignored or treated as unimportant afterthoughts whole communities living near heavy concentrations of polluting facilities bear the brunt of the impacts to their health and quality of life while being told essentially "it's all in your head". When will Alabama elected officials take enough notice to care about what's happening under the state air program?

Three sites that were exempted have a long history of air pollution violations. For environmental justice advocates, the exemptions are just the latest setback in a decades-long fight for the health of local residents. Read more 👇
