🎥 What's your FAVORITE movie filmed in the Moab area? Have you ever been an extra?
Film has played a major roll in Moab history. In 1949, John Ford came here to film "Wagon Master" and the following year in 1950, John Wayne filmed "Rio Grande" and the list goes on and on.
Throughout the 1950s, Moab became known as "Little Hollywood" as so many movies were being filmed here. Today there have been over 50 major productions, many commercials, minor scenes and photographic advertising done around our region here.

Local sandstone slabs held together by jacal (a cement made from mud and sticks) and chinked with smaller stone, indicating a Chaco Canyon cultural influence.
