This year's Chamber of Commerce Trunk-or-Treat event will be held in downtown Mitchell on October 31, 2026 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.!

Bring the whole family downtown for an afternoon of Halloween fun! 👻 Kids can dress up in their favorite costumes and make their way from trunk to trunk collecting candy while families enjoy a safe, welcoming community atmosphere.

Are you looking for child care or a new preschool? Look no further! Granny's Garden in Mitchell is officially open and is accepting kids into their daycare and preschool programs. They will also be offering scheduled date nights, drop-in rates, as well as the ability to rent their space for special events and birthday parties.

Also, can we please give this business a giant round of applause for the transformation they have done to this building? It looks so much better, and we are so happy to have them in our community!

Only two days until the free BURGER FEED for all local firefighters and their families!

This event will be September 2, 2026 starting at 5:00p.m. at RedZ Bar & Grill in Mitchell, NE, and is being hosted by Rodriguez Brothers Processing and RedZ Bar & Grill in appreciation for all our local firefighters.

There's still time to contribute to this event and/or donate items to our local fire departments,(gatorade, bottled waters, granola bars, beef jerky, etc.)! Just contact Mike Roberts at RedZ, or Rigo Rodriguez at Rodriguez Brothers Processing. There will also be donations accepted during the event as well, so feel free to stop by on September 2, 2026. If you can't attend that day, you can drop off your donations any time before the event too.

The Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce's next Business Resource Presentation Night will be on September 15, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at the Nile Theatre in Mitchell!

This month's presentation will be "Marketing Without a Marketing Department: Free tools, smarter systems, and practical ways to make your business more recognizable," featuring Ria Rebman.

Ria Rebman is the Marketing & Workforce Coordinator for Trusted Community Development and founder of Storyline Studio. Her work includes branding, social media, content creation, video production, photography, event promotion, and marketing campaigns for businesses and community organizations across Western Nebraska. Her projects have included helping bring the My Town television series to Western Nebraska, leading TCD’s rebrand, developing initiatives such as ReBoo and the Work Ready Closet, and working directly with small businesses on practical and marketing needs. She is especially interested in helping businesses use tools like AI and Canva to create stronger marketing without needing a large budget or a full marketing department.

Don't forget that each of our Business Resource Presentation Nights will be held in conjunction with the Nile Theatre's popcorn night. Concessions will be available and all proceeds from concessions will go directly to the Friends of the Nile!
