Hello choir families,
As I am sure you noticed, I have not put out my yearly children’s choir information. This past year we had some amazing singers and I am so proud of their hard work. However this was our lowest attendance in the past 10 years. One of the biggest differences between now and 10 years ago is- there are SO MANY opportunities for our students now to be involved in activities. Choir with 25 singers or less this age is challenging and it is hard to plan not knowing who is coming in the door each week.
For the 26-27 season the Mitchell Area Children’s Choir will take a hiatus. I personally need time to reassess the role of the group and it’s importance in our community. When we first started, we did a lot of community performances. Nursing homes, spaghetti feeds, we even did a food drive for snackpack and focused on giving back to the community.
