Let's get ready to record book! The 2026-27 Texas 4-H Record Book Family Guide should be out by the end of this month. There are 3 online Q&A sessions scheduled and one workshop with a limited number of spots available. In Fort Bend County, turning in a record book makes you eligible for scholarships, Star Awards, and a graduation honor cord. There is also a club trophy for the club with the most record book entries and awards.

You work up the courage to enter the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble. Maybe you catch a calf. Maybe you don’t. Either way, you’ve taken a chance, made connections, and opened doors to new opportunities!

For Quinnlyn, that experience led to a wonderful breeder, a project steer, and months of hard work. This weekend, her steer earned Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion honors in his breed divisions!

But here’s the bigger picture.

It’s not always about the ribbons or the outcome. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and sometimes the best opportunities come from finding a different path.

That’s what 4-H is all about. Learning, growing, making connections, and discovering what’s possible.

You don’t have to win to gain something. But you do have to be willing to try! 🍀

I spy our Parliamentarian, Quinnlyn Gallat! The Fort Bend County Fair Jr Livestock Committee gives youth the opportunity to work behind the scenes at county fair. From tag-ins, to set up, arena help, tear down and office support! Great work Q on those long hours!

First official meeting ever at the property. New officers elected, new members joining, lots of guest and new leaders! Going to be an awesome 4-H year!

We're seeking volunteers for our 'Get Outside' area at these upcoming events.

Help us conduct fun, hands-on activities like archery, fishing, camping skills and more. No experience needed - we’ll train!

All volunteers receive a t-shirt, parking pass and grounds pass.
