HCAN (Health Care for America NOW!) - Montana

Health Care for America Now is the nation’s leading grassroots health
care advocacy organization that led the fight over the past two years
to win passage of health reform and to keep Congress from being
steamrolled by corporate special interests. HCAN is a coalition with a
strong Steering Committee comprised of 21 member organizations,
including labor, civil rights, community, women’s and other g

roups. With more than 1,000 member organizations, HCAN is a national voice
for all health care policies that affect small business, children,
seniors and the middle class and is driving an aggressive field
operation on state and federal issues. The coalition is currently focused on:

-Public education and grassroots organizing: driving an aggressive
field program to defend the Affordable Care Act and support implementation

-Rapid media responses to refute false claims about reform: taking on
the repeal-mongers and other opponents

-Building support from policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders:
defining the debate and driving the narrative
nationally and locally, HCAN brings the voice of consumers to the
forefront, keeping the focus on families that need the ACA to work and
who rely on Medicare and Medicaid

-Research and data analysis: producing cutting-edge insurance research
