Proclamation Day has now been officially solidified, marking a lasting recognition of Belize's contributions and the strength of our community partnership.
For years, the Sister City initiative remained an idea that never moved beyond a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). It took the right visionaries, the right leadership, and a shared commitment to transform that vision into meaningful action.
A sincere thank you to Mayor Wayne Messam of the City of Miramar and Mayor Bernard Wagner of Belize City for their leadership, partnership, and unwavering belief in what could be accomplished together. Their commitment helped move the Sister City Agreement from paper to purpose, creating opportunities that are already benefiting our communities on both sides.
This is more than a proclamation—it is a testament to what can be achieved when visionary leaders, dedicated organizations, and passionate communities work together toward a common goal. The future of the Miramar–Belize City Sister City partnership has never been brighter.
