This mornings speaker was Tim with the International Peace Garden! 🌱

He shared some amazing facts such as they have received visitors from all 50 states as well as much of Canada! As 9/11 is approaching, they are so far expecting four local schools to visit the gardens and view the site they have dedicated to its remembrance.

Magic City Lions delivered meat & cheese and fruit trays to Minot’s city and rural fire departments as a way to say thank you for the dedication, courage, and countless hours our firefighters give to keeping our community safe.

Our first responders are there for us when we need them most, and we’re grateful for all they do.

This is just the beginning of a year-long series of appreciation visits. We’ll be recognizing other first responders throughout the year, including our police officers, EMTs, and others who serve our community every day.

Thank you to our local firefighters for your service, sacrifice, and commitment. We’re proud to support you! ❤️

Today we welcomed Cyndi Roles, OD, from Eye-Link North Dakota, who shared about the organization’s mission to empower North Dakotans who are blind or have low vision.

Eye-Link North Dakota provides adaptive technology and the training needed to use it, helping individuals maintain independence, stay connected, and navigate everyday life with greater confidence.

Thank you, Dr. Roles, for giving us a look at the important work being done across our state to make technology and opportunity more accessible to people who are blind and low vision.

Magic City Lions is honored to support the sixth closet of Mrs. Field’s Closet, which provides students with hygiene products, school supplies, clothing, and other essentials they may need throughout the school year.

We’re grateful to be a small part of helping ensure students have what they need to feel confident, cared for, and ready to learn. Congratulations on the new closet, Roosevelt Elementary! 🦁💛

Today, we welcomed Dave, Dan, and Kathy from the Ward County Historical Society, who shared an exciting update on the restoration of the historic 1956 carousel.

This incredible labor of love has already involved more than 500 hours of volunteer work, including sandblasting, painting, and even manufacturing replacement parts that are no longer available. Their dedication is preserving a piece of history for future generations to enjoy.

If all goes according to plan, the beautifully restored carousel will be installed at the Ward County Historical Society site in Burlington next summer.

Thank you to Dave, Dan and Kathy for sharing the progress of this remarkable project and for the countless hours you’ve invested in preserving an important part of our history. 🎠

This morning’s speaker was Monica with 701 K9 Project, who shared how this growing nonprofit is supporting law enforcement K9 teams across North Dakota.

The 701 K9 Project helps provide funding for police K9s, handler training, specialized equipment, and emergency veterinary care, ensuring these incredible teams have the resources they need to protect and serve.

Police K9s play a vital role in public safety, from locating missing people and tracking suspects to detecting narcotics and explosives. Behind every successful K9 team is ongoing training, specialized equipment, and dedicated community support.

The organization is currently fundraising to purchase a new K9 for the Minot Police Department. If you’d like to support this effort, consider reaching out to the 701 K9 Project to learn how you can help. 🐕💙

As we close another incredible Lions year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lion Jalisa Tinnes for her dedicated service as President of Magic City Lions.

Throughout the past year, Jalisa has led our club with compassion, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to serving our community. From supporting local organizations and families to bringing members together through service, her leadership has made a lasting impact.
