💥💥Cards for Courage is now a year-round initiative by Minot Vets for Vets built on a simple truth: no one in uniform, no veteran, and no military family should ever feel unseen or forgotten 💥💥

Every day, our deployed service members carry the weight of distance, danger, and responsibility. Their families carry the quiet strain at home. Our veterans carry experiences that don’t end when the uniform comes off. Much of that burden is invisible, and too often, it is carried alone.

Cards for Courage creates a bridge between our community and those who serve it. Through handwritten messages of encouragement, gratitude, and solidarity, everyday people are given the chance to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the realities of military life. These cards are not about grand gestures. They are about human connection. One person taking time to say, you matter.

This initiative is also about awareness. Awareness that service does not stop at deployment timelines. Awareness that resilience is often built quietly. Awareness that support does not always need to be complicated to be meaningful.

A single card cannot remove hardship, but it can interrupt isolation. It can remind someone on the other side of the world, or across town, that their service is recognized and their sacrifices are honored. Over time, thousands of small moments of connection create something powerful: a culture that refuses to look away.

Cards for Courage runs all year because service, sacrifice, and the need for connection do not operate on a schedule.

This is how a community stands watch together.

Much Love, Minot

A huge thanks to the Chief's Group, First Command, the 91 Security Forces Group, the 5 Mission Support Group, the 5 Security Forces Squadron, the 23 Bomber Generation Squadron, the 5 Civil Engineering Squadron, and the 5 Contracting Squadron for Adopting Dorms this year! And to the 1st graders, 4th graders, and the Vets for Vets group for providing cards, along with all the volunteers who stepped up along side the Dorm Council to get all 12 dorm buildings decorated in time for the Holidays! Seeing all the smiles on our airmen's faces this past 2 weeks while we decorated made it all worth it and is the true meaning of the season, spreading Cheer! So thankful for everyone who stepped up and helped this season!

was one for the books!

I love seeing how our Community came together in the Spirit of Kindness and Giving! From kicking it off at the gates, to bracelets at the housing office and bookmarks at the library, our local Minot Vets for Vets group was downtown with coffee and cards and our 4th graders at Dakota Elementary made cards for the dorms. Then from everyone that showed up in support of decorating the dorms, to getting to pass out cookies to our mom's group in the morning, to passing out bags of coffee beans, cookies, and cards to our Security Forces Squadrons in the afternoon... We closed out the night by coming together at Rockers for the After Party with Dakota Chappy Minot and DJ Moni! It was a day of doing good, being kind, and giving back, and boy can't wait for next year!!!

GivingTuesdayMilitary might be over but we aren't yet! We have a few done, still have a few groups coming in to get their dorms decorated over the next few days, but we still have some that aren't adopted yet... We are aiming to have them all done by next week, so if you wanna jump and help, use the link/QR and Adopt one! We still have some fun themes to do like Charlie Brown, Country Hawaiian, Gingerbread Fantasy, and a few others! Help us make the holidays a little brighter for our airmen and finish getting their common areas decorated for the Holidays!
