Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research.

Providing free education classes for individuals and organizations, support groups, advocacy, a 24/7 Helpline and advancing research for those impacted by Alzheimer's and other dementia. The Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter was one of seven founding chapters of the National Alzheimer's Association, headquartered in Chicago. It was started by family caregivers who came together around a common need o

f getting support and help for their loved ones with dementia. Since 1979, our donor-supported nonprofit Alzheimer’s Association has provided reliable information and care consultation, created supportive services for families, increased funding for dementia research and influenced public policy changes.

☀️ It may have been overcast skies at the start, but that didn't dampen spirits on the course Bunker Hills Golf Club in Minneapolis!

Nearly 300 golfers, sponsors, and supporters came together for the 17th Annual Driving to Donate tournament with Life, with a shared goal of raising $250,000 to advance the Alzheimer's Association mission to fund groundbreaking research and providing care and support for those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementia.

Before teeing off, participants heard firsthand how their generosity makes a difference, helping to provide resources like the Alzheimer's Association 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), available in more than 200 languages.

A special thanks to Allianz Life CEO Jasmine Jirele and the Allianz Life staff for welcoming Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota and Montana Executive Director Juliette Francis, and dedicated volunteer Carolyn Osterberg who shared their stories - which reminded us why this work matters.

🏅 Advocate Spotlight: Celebrating Linda Comb 💜

After 10 years of extraordinary leadership, Linda Comb is passing the baton as our Advocacy Ambassador, team leader. Throughout the last decade, Linda has guided volunteers in Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District, attended numerous Alzheimer’s Association Advocacy Forums in Washington, D.C., and has been a diligent, persistent, and highly effective advocate for people impacted by Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.

While stepping down from her leadership role, Linda isn’t slowing down. She’ll continue advocating alongside the team and is focusing her leadership energy on the Ride to End ALZ and other volunteer opportunities.

Earlier this month, we gathered to celebrate Linda’s decade of service, dedication, and impact.

Why I Walk: Ali’s Story 💜
My connection to the Alzheimer’s Association started with a desire to make a difference. Today, I’m proud to serve as the 2026 Community Engagement Chair
for the Twin Cities
Walk to End Alzheimer’s and volunteer with the Minnesota Advocacy Team.

I participate in the Walk because it does more than raise funds and awareness. It creates opportunities for people to take action. Thanks to advances in research, simple blood tests can now help detect Alzheimer’s earlier than ever before. Through advocacy, we can help ensure these breakthroughs become accessible to everyone.

Every dollar raised and every step taken brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. That’s why I walk - for my dad, my grandpa, to advocate, and to invite others to join me in the fight. 💜

friends to a special open house.

All had the opportunity to meet Juliette Francis, Executive Director for Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana, engage in meaningful conversations about brain health, post on the "Why I Walk" poster, play games, take photos and share ideas on how we can continue working together to advance the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Gina Halvorson 🌟
We're proud to shine a light on Gina Halvorson, one of our dedicated Special Projects and Operations volunteers.

Gina's connection to our mission is deeply personal. Both her grandmother and her husband's grandmother lived with Alzheimer's disease, inspiring her to get involved and help make a difference for families facing this devastating illness.

Through her volunteer work, Gina is passionate about raising awareness and helping others understand the progress being made in Alzheimer's research, especially in the area of early detection. She believes that increased awareness and earlier diagnosis can help individuals and families access support, plan for the future, and benefit from emerging treatments and interventions.
"Gina's commitment reminds us that every volunteer has a story, and every story has the power to create change!

Today the Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter welcomed committee members, community and business partners, former Board members, and friends to a special open house.
