Minnesota DNR's new electronic licensing system launches June 9! 📆

The DNR is rolling out a modern licensing system replacement that is built for today's customers and technology. Phase one of the launch in June will include the hunting and fishing modules. 🤳

The new system offers more flexibility than ever — three ways to buy a license (mobile app, online, or in-person from a license agent) and three ways to carry it (paper, PDF, or stored in the app). 📱

As part of this transition, hunting and fishing licenses will be temporarily unavailable for purchase between June 2 - 8 as we switch over to the new system. During that time, people may fish without a license in Minnesota. All regulations for the season and bag limits will remain in effect. On June 9, fishing licenses will again be required and you will be able to purchase them through the new system. 🎣

Turkey hunters need to register their harvest before end of day (11:59 pm) June 1. They will be unable to register their harvest during the transition/cutover period. 🦃

For now, nothing changes for those needing to register or title recreational vehicles and watercraft. That module of the new system will launch at a later date. 🚤

Good news 🗞️ 😃

Big news for upland hunters!

Pheasants Forever is applauding today's announcement by the U.S. Department of the Interior for the proposed expansion of 1,450 new hunting and fishing opportunities on U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service lands across 111 stations in 32 states.

This represents the largest expansion of hunting and fishing access in the history of the USFWS and will benefit upland hunters and the places bird dogs love to roam!

Thank you to all the Volunteers and Chapter Members that participated in today’s Hands-On Habitat Day project.

We removed Barbed wire fencing from two sections of the central/western area of Keystone Woods Wildlife Management Area (Washington County). Each section was over 480 feet (nearly 1 mile).

Fun time, took our time and made a productive day. Unfortunately, we did not get to connect with the Washington County Chapter, who were on the North side of the WMA doing their Habitat Day service.

We left with a few scratches, pulled some ticks and memories of the birds and frogs singing.

It’s a truly beautiful piece of public land.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend celebrating Mothers and the fishing opener.

Our next Board Meeting is tomorrow, May 12th, starting at 7:00. Gabe’s Neighborhood Bar & Kitchen.

Primary goal tomorrow: finalizing plans for Hands-On Habitat Day, this Saturday, May 16.

We have room at the tables for new ideas, new faces and support 😃
