✨ MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH ✨

To the diaspora

Carrying two worlds is not easy.

Many of us are balancing:
- life in America
- family responsibilities
- the pain of what’s happening back home
- and the pressure to keep going no matter what

That weight is real.

This month, remember:
taking care of your mental health is not weakness.
Rest is not guilt.
Peace is necessary.

Check on your people.
Take breaks from heavy news.
Pray. Journal. Walk. Talk to someone you trust.

✊🏿 You deserve support too.

Let’s normalize healing, peace, and emotional well-being in our communities.

Stay grounded. Stay strong.

📚 FRIDAY: WHAT IS THE U.S. & THE WORLD DOING? 🇺🇸🌍

Right now, the world is involved—but not enough to stop the crisis.

🇺🇸 UNITED STATES

* Largest humanitarian donor to South Sudan
* Providing emergency aid for food, health, and displaced families
* TPS still active → recognizing South Sudan is unsafe

⚠️ But:

* Aid is limited and sometimes blocked or suspended
* Pressure is increasing due to lack of accountability

🌍 UNITED NATIONS & GLOBAL ACTORS

* UN peacekeeping mission still present
* Calling for protection of civilians and peace

⚠️ But:

* Funding is limited
* Aid access is restricted in conflict areas

🚨 REALITY

Violence continues in Jonglei & Upper Nile
Hundreds of thousands have been displaced recently

People are still fleeing.
Aid is not reaching everyone.

✊🏿 WHAT THIS MEANS

The world is helping—but not enough.

🇸🇸 This is why our voices matter.
Awareness. Education. Action.

FRIDAY: WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW IN SOUTH SUDAN 🇸🇸

Right now, the situation is escalating again—especially in Jonglei and Upper Nile.

* Fighting has intensified, with armed groups taking control of areas like Akobo
* Thousands of people have been forced to flee after evacuation orders and clashes
* Up to 280,000 people displaced in recent weeks due to violence
* Humanitarian conditions are worsening as aid access is disrupted

⚠️ WHAT THIS MEANS

* Families are running without shelter
* Food insecurity is getting worse
* Health services are collapsing in some areas
* Civilians are caught in the middle of conflict

Violence is also increasing the risk of famine-level hunger in parts of the country

🚨 THE BIGGER PICTURE

South Sudan is at a dangerous point, with rising violence threatening the fragile peace and putting civilians at risk again

✊🏿 THIS IS HAPPENING NOW

Not in the past.
Not slowing down.

People are still fleeing.
Families are still suffering.
