After much deliberation with various stakeholders, the board of Loring Collective has decided to extend the voting period for this year's Loring Awards!

To Our Community,

Loring Collective strongly condemns the federal occupation of our city and state and demands the departure of all ICE agents from Minnesota immediately.

Ever since we took a stand at our founding to speak out against hate, our mission has remained to empower q***r creatives. The current federal occupation of Minnesota jeopardizes our efforts, but we’re not giving up—and we implore you not to give up either.

We stand with our vibrant Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other minority communities; who all are taking a stand for their communities while wrongfully being targeted by federal law enforcement. We will continue stand against the hate aimed at separating us.

Don’t be mistaken: We will continue to use our radical community to celebrate q***r creatives. We will continue to repost resources that are helping our communities. The Loring Awards will still be happen—no matter what format they must occur to keep all those involved safe. No matter what—q***r creatives will be celebrated.

We encourage you to show up however you can. We want to acknowledge that this is a traumatic and difficult time to be living and creating in. Nevertheless, this is the time that we—especially those of us with privilege—cannot afford to look away.

We will be tagging various vetted community aid networks in the comments of this post that are actively taking donations for impacted communities. We encourage community members to the same. All we have is each other.

CALLING FOR NOMINATIONS for 2026 Loring Awards - an awards program facilitated by the to celebrate, reward, and share artistic excellence of q***r talent in the Twin Cities. We decided to extend the window for those nominating q***r creatives this year so that we can ensure the best of the best are represented for next year’s award season!

The call for nominations will end January 7th, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Nominees will then be narrowed down by the Loring Collective Board of Directors and announced on January 23rd, 2026. Immediately following the nomination announcement, the two-week long public voting period will begin and then close on February 6th, 2026.

Winners will be announced live on March 28th, 2026 during the Loring Awards Ceremony from 7 - 9 PM. Loring Award Nominees and Winners will be featured throughout 2026 on Loring Collective’s events, social profiles, and more.
