Have you ever known someone so well that when they call you on the phone, they don't have to identify themselves? That's what happens as you listen to the Holy Spirit speak to you through the words of the Bible. You get to know Him so well you can recognize His voice anywhere.

I refuse to let what I lack make me forget what I already have.

I have another breath.

Another sunrise.

Another opportunity to walk with Jesus.

And that alone is enough reason to give thanks.

God has been too faithful for me to doubt Him now.

The same God who carried me through yesterday will sustain me today and lead me into tomorrow.

My gifts will not grow while I keep them on a shelf.

A skill takes work. Writing calls for drafts. Teaching takes study. Building requires practice and care. Whatever my ability, I develop it by using it, hearing feedback, and correcting mistakes.

Waiting until I feel ready leaves that work undone. I need a clear task and time set aside to finish it. A small goal gives me something to act on today: write a page, learn a method, or help someone solve a problem.

Praise does not tell me the whole value of my effort. I also need to ask who benefits. Work that saves a neighbor time or helps a child learn has worth beyond the notice it receives.

Developing my gifts also means facing my limits. Sleep, rest, and sound advice support work done well. Exhaustion gives me no reason to call myself faithful.

Lord, help me turn the abilities You have given me into help someone can use. Give me courage to accept correction and finish work that asks more of me.

I want my growth to serve Your love. Where am I leaving a gift unused, and what step will I take to develop it?
