Recovered from the holidays yet? 🎄✨ What did you get for Christmas? This year, we kept our tradition alive by providing baskets of essential goods to the most vulnerable households, ensuring they enjoyed a warm holiday meal. Plus, we distributed 128 livestock last month! A special shoutout to Ora Austria and Ora Switzerland for helping make this possible! 🧺 🐄🐑

Today is an incredibly special day. Not only are we welcoming the year 2025 but our beloved Haïti is celebrating 221 years of independence. Haïti, we love you! And to our ancestors who fought bravely and tirelessly for our freedom - we salute you!

MOFADEL (Microcredit Organization of Active Women for the Development of Lougou) which is Lougou’s female-led microlending enterprise, celebrated another year in business. The microcredit has been celebrating their anniversary/success by hosting an annual community gathering where there are expositions by their female business leaders, music, dance and revelry. Because MOFADEL has franchises in other communities near Lougou, folks from all over the local area joined in the fun.

For us working at COFHED, it’s a humbling and powerful experience to see villages come together to build their economies and celebrate their mutual accomplishments.

Our co-founder Madeleine Maceno Avignon will be featured on a primetime CNN news segment at 2pm CT / 3pm ET tomorrow to share about COFHED and our transformative work in .

This opportunity comes as a part of Madeleine's participation in the John Lewis Fellowship with the United States Institute of Peace, which she has been engaged with since May in Washington D.C.

Our first ever walkathon was a terrific success thanks to our participants and supporters. Thank you to all who attended and donated. We are so grateful to you for standing in solidarity with Haitians and walking alongside our partner communities as they take steps towards lasting change.

Today might have been the COFHED walk-a-thon but it’s also the 221st anniversary of the creation of the Haitian flag. The community of Raymond was loud and proud in their celebration as they took to the streets waving their flags and honoring the efforts of our ancestors who fought so bravely for their freedom. To our Haitian brothers and sisters, we wish you a very happy flag day - and to our supporters around the world, we thank you for standing with us and celebrating with us.
