Hi folks

Here are the start times for the Byllesby Dryland Derby. Please feel free to shoot us a message if you catch an error.

We are still working on the map for camping at Phillippo. If you are camping, stay tuned for further instructions.

Parking: please base your parking off the largest team you will be fielding. (Example: if you are racing in six dog and 2 dog, look at the six dog parking)

Six and Four Dog Rig: If you are racing with a four dog or six dog team, please park in the red areas. I would like all the six dog teams at the trailhead itself. All spots but one will be first come, first serve unless otherwise noted. I will be there to help you park. If you are fielding a four dog team, please park along 300th St and Gerlach way or in the boat launch area. We have two folks who have kindly brought ATVs to help get teams to the start line safely.

2 dog or less teams: If your largest team is a 2 dog or less, please park in the campgrounds. If you have a trailer, please park in an RV spot and save the single spaces for cars only. Please note the blue line marking the trail from the campground to the trailhead. When you are at the campgrounds, this trailhead will be adjacent to a pole barn.

Weight Pullers: we didn’t forget about you. You may park with the 2 dog or less teams or with the spectators. Once the race is complete, you will be able to access the weight pull area with your vehicle. Please note that if you need to crate dogs near the weight pull area, you cannot access the weight pull area by vehicle while the race is in progress.

Spectators: please plan to park at the playground/beach parking lot.

Byllesby Dryland Derby Registered Racers List🐾

Here’s the official signup list for the Byllesby Dryland Derby! Race signups are now closed. If you didn’t get registered in time, we’ll see you at the next one. If you see a mistake, please message this page or email us at [email protected]

Weight pull signups are still open! You can register for the weight pull each day until weigh-in closes at 1:45 pm. If you are signed up for the race and the weight pull, don't worry! Our weight pull judges are paying close attention so you don't have to be in two places at once.

We had record race signup this year and with that, we anticipate parking may take extra time on Saturday and Sunday. We will send out a map this evening on where we would like people to park based on their team size so the ATVs can safely assist the rig teams to the starting line.

Chute times will be posted on Tuesday. In the meantime, plan on the race starting at 8:30 am in the following order:
6 dog rig
4 dog rig, then RNB
2 dog bike - pro, RNB, rec
1 dog bike - pro, RNB, rec
2 dog scooter, then RNB
1 dog scooter
Wheeled juniors
Canicross - Mens, Womens, Jrs

Keep an eye out for the chute times on Tuesday, and good luck to all the teams!

Signups are OPEN for the Byllesby Dryland Derby! This year's derby is coming up fast, and we want YOU on the roster. Race signups close on 10/10, a week before the race. Weight pull registrations will remain open until weigh in closes each day.

Interested in volunteering? Volunteers are the heart of this event, we couldn't do it without you. We're actively looking for more hands on deck this year, so if you love dogs and want to be part of the magic (with or without racing), we'd love to have you!

We have an especially critical slot that we need to fill: we are looking for a volunteer to be part of the timing crew from 8 to 12(ish) each day with an eye for precision who will handle the spreadsheets. If this sounds like you, reach out to us directly. Ideally this would be the same person each day.

Mark your calendars: the Byllesby Dryland Derby is happening October 17–18, 2026 at Byllesby Regional Park in Cannon Falls, MN. Sign-Ups Are Open for the Byllesby Dryland Derby!

We’ll have vendors on site both days, come check out gear, treats, and local businesses supporting the dog-powered sports community.

We also need volunteers to help make this event happen! Course help, timing, setup/teardown, and more! Even a few hours makes a huge difference.
