Not pictured: a sea of orange books in the crowded Bryant Lake Bowl & Theater, all free thanks to The Bush Foundation. It was truly a sight to behold.

Thanks for joining us onstage, and thanks to everyone who came out to see the show, asked questions, and laughed along with us!

Sketches of Minnesota visited Worthington last Friday for an evening of conviviality, connection, and improv comedy!

Community members gathered at Lerma's Event Center to share a meal and talk about their town: what they love about it, what other people get wrong about it, and their hopes (and fears) for the future. Afterwards, our improvisers brought their conversations to life through unscripted comedy theater!

🚌 The tour continues TONIGHT in the Iron Range. Register at dangerboat.net/upcoming!

A few weeks ago, our tour stopped in the Edge of the Wilderness🌲 to hear about the community from the locals there. We listened in on meaningful conversations over some delicious food, then gathered together to enjoy an improvised comedy show all about the town!

Thank you to the Edge of the Wilderness community for inviting us out and sharing your stories with us. Our next stop 🚌 is a return visit to Rochester on WEDNESDAY — register for free at dangerboat.net/upcoming.

ICYMI: TPT - Twin Cities PBS has been tagging along on our tour across Minnesota. Their piece about the Edge of the Wilderness aired on Almanac last Friday.

Join the Minnesota Humanities Center, Danger Boat Productions, and the Emily Mine Information Group for a special return visit of the Sketches of Minnesota civic improv comedy tour!

This special gathering - Digging Into the Emily Mine: What Lies Ahead - will use laughter and comedy to dive into an important community conversation exploring the potential impact of a manganese mine in Emily. The evening includes a free dinner, followed by a facilitated conversation with two experts who will share information about mine permitting, groundwater interaction with the manganese deposit, and potential impacts of the proposed mine.

Guests will hear from Joy Anderson, JD - MN Center for Environmental Advocacy (MCEA) - who reviews mine permitting process and public input opportunities, and Bob Karls, a hydrogeologist with over 46 years of experience in solving environmental challenges.

This event is made possible by the generous support of the Initiative Foundation.
