A sewing machine isn't just a machine — it's an opportunity for a bright future.

For a young woman in Uganda, access to tailoring training can mean the difference between dependency and self-sufficiency. It means income she can control, a skill she can build on, and a future she can pass on to her children.

Ruth Nabagala has dreamed of learning fashion design since childhood. The Imani Milele Vocational Institute is being built to give her and hundreds of young adults like her exactly that opportunity.

Tailoring is just one of the trades the school will offer. Every skill taught is a cycle of poverty interrupted. Dancing for a Cause 2026 is how Oregon helps make this school a reality.

Dancing for a Cause 2026 is a fundraising gala on November 7 at The Oregon Golf Club supporting the development of the Imani Milele Vocational Institute in Kampala, Uganda (a vocational trade school that equips young adults with the skills to build sustainable futures).
