Because someone stepped up and opened their home, we were able to pull Jethro from WHS and welcome him into Second Chance Animals of Greater Milwaukee.

To the foster who said “yes” — thank you. You didn’t just provide a temporary home. You gave Jethro a chance, and that means everything.

This is exactly why fosters matter. Every dog we save depends on someone willing to step forward.

As SCA continues to grow, so does the need for support. We have more dogs needing help than we have foster homes available. Without fosters, we simply cannot continue bringing animals to safety.

If you’ve ever considered fostering, now is the time. We provide supplies, training, support, and guidance every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone who donates, shares our posts, fosters, adopts, and supports our mission. Jethro is safe today because someone chose to help.

Want to make a difference? Apply to foster and help us give more dogs the second chance they deserve.

We need help.

At Second Chance Animals of Greater Milwaukee, we take in the dogs many rescues won’t.

The dogs people say are “too much.”
Too scared.
Too reactive.
Too shutdown.
Too difficult.
Too overlooked.

We’ve been told “don’t take that dog” more times than we can count — and we still do. Because we believe every animal deserves a second chance, not just the easy ones.

But rescue does not survive on passion alone.

Right now, we have dogs waiting. Dogs that need out. Dogs that need safety, decompression, training, patience, and someone willing to simply say “yes.”

And we have no fosters.

No applications.
No backup plan.
Just the same small group of people trying to hold everything together while these animals continue waiting.

People always ask why rescues are overwhelmed. This is why.

You cannot cheer for rescue work while staying silent when help is needed.

We are looking for fosters for THREE dogs immediately. SCA provides supplies, support, and training guidance. You are never alone in this process.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the time.
Because these dogs cannot get a second chance without someone opening their home first.

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED📣🆘

Some of you may remember Jethro and his two friends, who our team helped last year when their owner was in the hospital, and they had no one to care of them. They were all previously homeless and the owner didn’t want to give up his dogs, they were all he had. So our volunteers stepped in to care for the three dogs, hoping to keep them all together. Generous followers donated so many items to help furnish the apartment, stock the pantry, stockpile dog food/treats etc. The community’s support was incredible!

We found out all three dogs were recently placed in the care of MADACC & the Wisconsin Humane Society after the owner had another medical emergency. Thankfully, 2 out of the 3 have already been adopted, but Jethro, who was shy and timid, is still at WHS. We’re heartbroken for Jethro, he hasn’t had an easy life and now after being separated from his pack is alone and scared at WHS. WE CAN TRANSFER HIM TO SCA BUT WE NEED A FOSTER ASAP‼️‼️

What’s needed? ⤵️
-A calm and quiet foster home
-We think he would enjoy having dog friends to play with again

What we know⤵️
-About 5 years old, 64 lbs, neutered
-He was shy when we first met him, very sweet and docile towards people
-Dog friendly, cats unknown

Every one of us who worked with this pack last year gravitated towards Jethro because of his calm and timid nature. We’re DESPERATE to get this boy in a foster home!

🐾 ISO FOSTER FOR ROSIE 🐾

Meet Rosie 💕

📍Name: Rosie
📅 Age: 4 years 7 months (DOB: October 4, 2021)
⚖️ Weight: 5 lbs

Rosie is a very friendly, cuddly, and sweet little girl looking for a foster home! She loves to relax and snuggle once she feels comfortable. She does have a high-pitched bark and may bark at new people out of curiosity, but once she gets to know you, she settles down and becomes very quiet.

👧 Kid Friendly – She loves kids and currently lives with two children.
🐶 Dog Friendly – Rosie does great with other dogs! She may bark initially while getting familiar, but once everyone settles in, she has a great time.

‼️ISO foster‼️

King was found emaciated in an empty home with another dog after their family moved out and left them behind. The kind person who found him has been caring for him but they can not keep him permanently and he needs a foster home ASAP. He needs an experienced foster who can continue his rehabilitation, socialization and training. He will take a few days to trust new people and will need extra time and space trusting men!

-about 1 yr old, 80lbs, neutered
-potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, knows basic commands
-afraid of new people especially men
-good with dogs with slow & proper introductions, good with cats

SCA provides any needed supplies, continuous support from our team and, access to professional training!
