The Milwaukee Time Lords The Milwaukee Time Lords is a private non-profit organization devoted primarily to the British telev We love other cool TV shows and movies. CAN YOU HELP US?

We are a private, non-profit organization registered in the State of Wisconsin primarily engaged in social activities. Primarily we support the British television series Doctor Who. We support our local PBS station, MPTV. In the past we have answered phones for pledge drives. We meet twice a month and usually have at least one event per month. We hold elections every year in February. Consult our By-Laws for our club rules and policies. Regular annual events include: Picnic (June), Anniversary Dinner (Aug/Sept), Chicago TARDIS (November) and Dalekmas (December). We publish a physical newsletter, The Relative Times, which is available to members via subscription. Members are welcome to submit their articles, fan fiction, photos and other content. You can become a member by visiting our website and applying by mail or you can visit us at the next meeting. Our meetings feature a projection video system, a snack bar and gaming. Our meeting hours are from 5 pm to 9 pm. We are in need of meeting space that fits 20 or more people on Saturday nights. If you can provide this space, it will help our club greatly. If you support this, please mail a letter to our contact address. Two of our members are not on Facebook and are only reachable by mail or contact information as a member. (We respect privacy of our members.) Our current first meeting space has insufficient capacity for more than a few people for health and safety.

For those of you who knew our first club president, Ed Hochman: Just letting you know that he is currently in the hospital after having a nasty fall. We all wish him a speedy recovery.

We made it! Although there is smoke and heat outside, the Time Lords are nicely air-conditioned at our meeting at Old Guard Games.

Two members received writing awards for Nick Seidler's book about fan memories. Several of us were asked about how we got into Doctor Who. Of the people attending the picnic, both Christopher Cebula and I (Barbara Brown) contributed to the book, and so we both got writing awards. Christopher also got an award for best quote, when his mother told him, "This is stupid -- I think you will like it." (My first reaction to Doctor Who in April 1983 was to tell my brother to change the channel -- LOL. But he wouldn't change the channel, and I got hooked. And the rest is history. Evidently my brother had seen it when it was first on commercial TV, with the horrible Howard DiSilva narrations back in the 1970s.)

We didn't quite make it through the entire sci-fi song playlist. Got to about six songs from the end. The last song that official played was Tina Turner's We Don't Need Another Hero from the Mad Max films ( #135 out of 141), although I did play snippets of the last two songs: Weird Al's The Saga Begins and Yoda (140 and 141) for the two Chris'es (Cebula and Madsen). And then the speaker ran out of power. I did play that last segment on the way home, but just got to The Saga Begins when I got home. Weird Al has used The Saga begins and Yoda as concert ending songs, so I felt it was appropriate. Other songs I have used as ending songs for the picnic playlist are Cher's If I Could Turn Back Time and Jim Croce's Time in a Bottle. I have almost always started the mix with the Doctor Who Theme and Doctorin' the TARDIS.

Homemade potato salad. Family recipe. The dressing recipe came to me from my mom, and she got it from her mother.

Made a cherry pie for the picnic plus a bunch of cookies. I just baked regular cookies this year -- no science fiction theme this time.

We've got a new playlist for the picnic! 141 songs. We probably won't make it through the entire list, but that's okay. A big foundation of it is the carefully curated 2024 list, where I got a lot of input from several people. One of the Doctor Who groups I'm on had a song suggestion thread, and I wrote down some additional songs I didn't have, plus I had acquired some other songs in the meantime.
