Performer Spotlight: Tony Duncan, World Champion Hoop Dancer

We are honored to welcome Tony Duncan to the Indian Summer Festival Fall Fundraiser this weekend in Waukesha, WI!

Tony is a six-time World Champion Hoop Dancer, most recently winning the Adult Division title at the Heard Museum's World Championship Hoop Dance Contest in 2021.

He is Apache, Arikara, Hidatsa, and Mandan, and he began learning the hoop dance at age five from his father.

His performances bring together hoop dance and the Native American flute. Tony has played flute at the White House, the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian, and many stages from Paris to Tokyo.

Join us this weekend to watch Tony and learn about the importance of each step, each song, and the continuity of life the hoops represent.

Lacrosse Spotlight! Our Fall Festival Fundraiser will feature Lacrosse SUPER 6s!
🥍 Why Lacrosse? Lacrosse has deep Indigenous roots, with versions of the game played by Native Americans of North America as early as the 12th century. Originally known as stickball, the game was played for recreation, medicinal and cultural purposes, and to prepare tribal warriors. Over the centuries, the game evolved into the sport of lacrosse we know today.

This family-friendly lacrosse experience is open to **boys & girls, adults, individuals, clubs, rec teams, and town teams!**

Teams can register with 8–10 players, or sign up as a "free agent" and we'll find you a team.
