For over 30 years, The Miss Pierce County Scholarship Program has helped provide meaningful scholarships to hundreds of college bound women who have completed our rigorous training program. Our mission is to: help young women build confidence, cultivate skills, promote healthy living, showcase strengths, serve the community and earn scholarships toward scholastic achievement. al of our organization is to develop young leaders and to give them the skills and the financial ability to move toward completing their educational goals. Our program has been the catalyst for college graduates to enter successful careers in fields such as education, medicine, business, engineering and non-profit service. In addition our teen program provides an opportunity to teach young women 13-17 the value of saving for college and the capital to begin the process. The Miss Pierce County & Miss Pierce County Teen Program starts in October and culminates with our pageant program on February 22, 2014. The teen participants meet several times between October and February. Each meeting includes interview practice, life skills workshops, mentoring training and or activity, talent development, current events discussion, poise, and posture during the duration of the program. The Miss Pierce County Scholarship Program is a 501(C)3 organization run by volunteers from our community . The process of selecting Miss America’s Outstanding Teen begins at the local level. In the greater Tacoma area the Miss Pierce County Scholarship Program is the local pageant. Once selected, Miss Pierce County’s Outstanding Teen will compete at the Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen Pageant. We would like to welcome and invite all young ladies who are in between the ages of 13 and 17, and who are interested in earning scholarship money toward their education, making a difference in today’s society to learn more about our program.

This is a little delayed but we are so proud of our Miss Pierce County's Outstanding Teen Regan Gallo!!! Top Teen at Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen and selected as a "Teens in Action" finalist. You are truly "outstanding"! Thank you for the great things you do for our community!

This is Regan. She’s Miss Pierce County's Outstanding Teen 2016 and also a Mary Bridge patient.

Regan is no stranger around here. She was diagnosed with colitis when she was four and has had several hospital stays and countless clinic visits to manage her chronic illness.

Regan wanted to be a part of the Miss Pierce County Outstanding Teen Scholarship Program because it combined her love of dance with an interest in giving back.

Once a week, you can find Regan volunteering at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital. At Mary Bridge, she’s become a frequent visitor bringing care bags packed with activities and visiting with patients.

Regan says she wants patients to know having a chronic illness doesn’t have to be limiting.

“As a patient you want to see inspiration and now I get to be that for others.”
