Part-time preschools are usually 2-3 hours long and don't allow enough time for a parent to work. Day care centers and preschools don't always compliment parents who have a variable work schedule, making it difficult to secure a reliable babysitter. Some parents can't work in the bay area because babysitters expect double minimum wage. It's hard for some families to live on a single income. Middle
income families don't qualify for low cost or subsidized childcare even if unforeseen emergencies such as medical expenses would push them below the federal poverty limit. Back up babysitters can be hard to find. Some back up childcare centers can be full at times, leaving parents with a dilemma and have to change plans. HOW CAN I JOIN THE COOP?
