As I get closer to opening our doors, I’ve learned that running a nonprofit (unfortunately) involves much more than collecting items for our initial inventory.

While item donations remain the heart of our mission, there are also ongoing expenses that help keep everything running behind the scenes, including:

💕 Rent and utilities
💕 Shelving and storage supplies
💕 Advertising and outreach
💕 Formula and inventory gaps
💕 Other operating costs that allow us to serve

One of my biggest goals for Lola’s Littles is sustainability. I want to ensure that families can rely on us not just today, but for years to come.

That’s why I’m hoping to build a small community of monthly supporters. I’m currently looking for 20 donors willing to give $10 per month.

A recurring gift of just $10 each month may seem small, but together those gifts provide dependable support and help make sure Lola’s Littles can continue growing and serving Delaware families in need. No amount is too small, and one-time gifts are always appreciated as well. 💕

All monetary donations via our website receive a receipt for your tax records along with a few surprise goodies mailed to your home (those who have already donated know what I’m talking about 🌼)!

🌼 Official Introduction Post 🌼

Hi everyone! I’m Alyssa, founder of Lola’s Littles, a Delaware-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit created from a simple belief: every child deserves access to basic essentials, and every parent deserves support without judgment.

Lola’s Littles was inspired by my favorite girls, Bianca and Lola, and my desire to create a welcoming community resource for families facing difficult seasons. Our mission is to provide diapers, wipes, formula, period supplies, and other essential care items to Delaware families through an appointment-based pantry model.

I’m excited to share that I’m planning a soft opening this summer! 💕

🌼 Inventory Update 🌼

I received numerous Amazon deliveries this week and so I wanted to share an updated look at our inventory 💕.

Whether you dropped off donations, purchased from our Amazon registry, shared our posts, or simply cheered me on, every contribution has helped bring Lola’s Littles one step closer to opening.

A special thank you to our Amazon registry donors! Your generosity has helped add even more diapers, wipes, and formula to our shelves. 🐝

If you donated through the Amazon registry and would like a donation acknowledgment letter/receipt for your records, please send me a message on Facebook or email and I'd be happy to provide one. Unfortunately, Amazon does not provide me with a way to properly thank you all!

As I’ve started organizing inventory, I've developed a standardized distribution plan to help serve families fairly and consistently. My plan is for each family to receive, on a monthly basis, and depending upon need:

Approx. 100-200 diapers
Approx. 200-300 wipes
One 20-30 oz can of formula

To make this possible, I’ll be repackaging inventory into standardized Lola's Littles branded boxes with consistent quantities. This will help stretch donations further, simplify inventory management, and ensure every family receives the same level of support. Brand preference, allergies, and sizes will of course still be taken into consideration and families will have an opportunity to lay these concerns out when they complete our intake form before scheduling an appointment.

Thanks to your generosity, we're getting closer and closer to being able to open our doors for a small pilot launch this summer! 🎉

Today was our very first Community Drop-Off Event and my heart is so full. 💕

When I started thinking about forming this nonprofit, I pictured shelves filled with diapers, wipes, formula, and other essentials available to anyone. Today, that vision started becoming a reality.

Because of your generosity, our shelves are beginning to fill. We also received additional donations through our Amazon registry that will be arriving soon!

While we still have a ways to go on inventory before I feel comfortable opening our doors, seeing these shelves fill up for the first time is incredibly encouraging. Every box of diapers, every container of formula, and every package of wipes brings us one step closer to helping local families in need.

I’m also excited to share that our family lounge and play area is nearly complete (check out the picture). My hope is that families who visit us will feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported from the moment they walk through the door. A place where you can take a moment and breathe.

None of this would be possible without you all. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared posts, encouraged me, or just simply believed in me.

Thank you Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement for an incredible day! I got to meet so many lovely, like-minded individuals. And they even featured my notecard on their Facebook story 😭. What an amazing experience! 💕
